About the role

  • Project Engineer tackling challenges in stormwater projects, coordinating engineering works and collaborating with clients in a vibrant culture at HWC Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Understand design concepts and necessary calculations to apply them to water, wastewater and stormwater drainage projects
  • Utilize various software to complete hydrologic and hydraulic modeling of storm water runoff in urban and rural settings
  • Develop engineering work of municipal water, wastewater and stormwater projects, including: Planning and studies, Design, Construction administration and inspection
  • Prepare preliminary engineering reports that meet the requirements of funding agencies
  • Prepare bidding documents for municipal public works projects
  • Interpret, organize, execute and coordinate engineering projects that have unique and complex criteria

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis on stormwater projects preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in the civil engineering industry preferred but not required
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) designation or Professional Engineering license (or the ability to acquire a license in Indiana through reciprocity)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to think critically, manage time and problem solve
  • Strong data analysis and organizational skills
