About the role
- Staff Software Engineer developing scalable data infrastructure software for Cloudera, empowering users with data insights. Focusing on cloud-native and Kubernetes-based solutions for major enterprises.
Responsibilities
- Write product and test code for Cloudera Data Warehouse.
- Lead mid-size development efforts, often mentoring less senior members of the widely distributed team.
- Review code contributed by other members of the team.
- Author design documents.
- Review design documents.
- Assist Customer Support in troubleshooting Cloudera Data Warehouse.
Requirements
- Bsc/Msc in related field or equivalent experience
- Strong containerization (e.g. Docker) and Kubernetes knowledge
- 6+ years of experience writing software in Go or Java/C++.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and collaborative mindset.
- Comfortable interacting online with a worldwide team.
- Experience in on-call rotation to help ensure services stay up and running.
- Experience with DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (a plus).
- Experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting, tuning, and capacity planning (a plus).
- Experience with automating deployment of software to production instances and owning software releases (a plus).
- Strong Linux and systems experience (a plus).
- Experience with Jenkins and continuous integration (a plus).
