About the role
- Maintain and enhance Shippit's infrastructure platform
- Work alongside senior DevOps professionals and the broader Engineering team to deliver a world class product
- Improve platform reliability and uptime and enable cross-functional teams to deliver new features faster and more securely
- Collaborate and support product teams by building platforms or solutions that help product success
- Design and implement infrastructure as code
- Share and learn infrastructure knowledge with product teams
- Design and implement build tools, services and ways to enhance the developer experience
- Monitor and collect information to understand infrastructure, applications and overall business health
- Understand and help create appropriate SLO/SLA for product teams with the 4 key metrics in mind
- Design and implement cloud solutions focusing on availability, security, reliability and performance
- Provide production support, root cause analysis and post-mortems
Requirements
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience with Infrastructure as code testing tools
- Experience with Container and container orchestration such as Kubernetes and EKS
- Experience with Cloud Computing Platform like AWS
- Experience or understanding in cloud-native architecture and concepts like availability, security, reliability and cost
- Knowledge of what great CI/CD looks like
- Knowledge of what good logging and monitoring looks like
- Programming and TDD experience in a scripting language like Python, Go, Ruby etc.
- Comfort in practicing XP disciplines daily
- Experience using DSCM like Git
- Skills in production support
- Open to new ideas and not scared to experiment with new concepts
- Senior/experienced (Staff Engineer level)
