Responsibilities
Lead, contribute to, and empower the growth and development of your direct reports;
Guide software engineering to be an enabling and strategic function for the product;
Create a challenging and inspiring environment that helps retain, attract, and hire high-potential talent;
Promote a close, team-oriented culture that encourages feedback and continuous improvement;
Participate in shaping and directing cross-functional strategy so that technology, processes, tools, and capacity are aligned;
Foster and evolve our software engineering culture and strategy;
Lead initiatives aimed at improving our engineers’ experience (DevEx);
Establish, promote, and evolve software engineering standards and guidelines;
Drive and support proofs of concept;
Foster and advance Research & Development (R&D);
Direct the technical evolution of our software products;
Build strong working relationships with product leaders to jointly define strategies to reach objectives;
Monitor, promote, and evolve software engineering metrics to drive continuous improvement and value delivery.
Requirements
Experience modeling and developing critical, large-scale software systems;
Deep understanding of software development best practices (software design and architecture);
People leadership and familiarity with Management 3.0;
Knowledge of Modern Agile, Business Agility, and XP (Extreme Programming);
Facilitation skills;
Technical expertise in software architecture and engineering;
Strategic vision and the ability to operate between the company’s technical and strategic levels.
