About the role

  • Act as a project engineer and technical lead for tailings projects
  • Train, mentor, and supervise the work of junior and intermediate staff
  • Manage projects, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and scope
  • Author and co-author reports
  • Participate in business development, including identifying new opportunities, promoting BGC’s capacity for undertaking innovative and advanced technical projects, and proposal writing
  • Organize and supervise field programs, including: site investigation, construction, and dam safety inspections
  • Work with client representatives
  • Help promote BGC's vision, values, and culture amongst BGC staff and clients
  • Travel as required, which could include extended shifts at remote sites

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
  • Post-graduate degree is an asset
  • 14-20 years of relevant work experience
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) as an RPEQ
  • Experience in tailings management
  • Experience in tailings dam site investigation, design, or construction support
  • Experience working within Australia’s regulatory and geological landscape
  • Excellent communication skills
