About the role

Senior Engineer (Supportability) ensuring operational readiness of the Royal New Zealand Navy fleet and shaping lifecycle support of marine systems. Collaborating with engineers and mentoring juniors in a purpose-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational readiness of the Royal New Zealand Navy fleet.
Lead Condition Based Monitoring trials, analyse vibration and thermographic data, and provide actionable insights that directly influence maintenance strategies.
Collaborate with skilled professionals, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Shape the lifecycle support of critical marine systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Experience in condition monitoring techniques, with an emphasis on vibration analysis.
Effective team collaboration
Excellent written and verbal communication
Initiative and workload prioritisation
Intermediate software proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Continuous improvement mindset
Technical documentation and reporting skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering (Washington Accord accredited), or equivalent recognised engineering qualification and subsequent experience.
Eligibility for Professional Engineer membership via recognised body
Desirable: ISO VCAT1, TCAT1, LCAT1 or equivalent certification
Desirable: Marine Engineering Officer Certificate Class 3 or above / Navy engineering experience
