Design, build, and maintain core platform services (infrastructure, data lakehouse, APIs, observability, CI/CD, security).
Develop frameworks and abstractions that improve developer experience and reduce complexity.
Partner with product and data teams to enable faster, safer delivery on top of the platform.
Drive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, alerting, and incident response practices.
Lead design reviews and mentor other engineers on platform best practices.
Contribute to architectural decisions that shape how Camber’s platform evolves as we scale.
Requirements
5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including platform, infrastructure, or backend systems work.
Strong background in one or more of: distributed systems, data infrastructure (e.g., Spark, Iceberg, Postgres, S3), or cloud infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, ECS).
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, Go, or similar).
Experience with observability stacks (logging, metrics, tracing) and building reliable services.
Strong system design and architectural thinking; comfortable weighing tradeoffs.
Pragmatic problem solver who balances technical excellence with business needs.
Collaborative mindset, able to understand the needs of partners across teams and guide them to the best solution for the situation at hand.
