About the role
- Android Engineer responsible for app performance, platform tooling, and building frameworks. Working with a team of over 80+ Android engineers to enhance Gojek's mobile platform.
Responsibilities
- Automate mechanism to make sure app performance adheres to the standards set internally
- Building tools that would alleviate mobile engineer's development experience and productivity
- Build dashboards and alerting systems around mobile app performance (using tools like Firebase, Instabug and internal solutions)
- Creating and maintaining SDKs like networking, logging, design systems, analytics and more
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Create excellent, clear, and insightful documentation ex: guidelines, best practices, how-to, FAQs etc
Requirements
- 5+ years of mobile engineering experience with Android as primary expertise
- Should have worked on projects (preferably Frameworks/SDKs) that involve collaborating with multiple teams
- Ability to take (or pitch) technical decisions, own them and raise impediments early if needed
- Very well-versed in architectural approaches, testing, and performance when it comes to building mobile apps
- Passion for building scalable and composable systems that would last long
- Hands-on engineer with a focus on writing easy-to-read code rather than over-engineering
- Great communicator who can express your ideas clearly and build consensus to push technical agendas
