- Serviceability Design Engineer at GM Defense ensuring service deliverable readiness and technical support for defense industry customers. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve service issues and maintain quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead identification of Service Parts for Development of Service Parts BOM
- Support development and validation of service special tools and procedures
- Provide support for emerging and quality issues
- Provide technical support for various other teams including: Program management, Product Engineering, Parts Release, Remanufacturing, Service Training, Warranty Center, Technical Assistance, Assembly Plants, Field support, Suppliers
- Work with other department functions and suppliers to implement cost reduction, math improvements, while supporting all department programs.
- Provide technical direction to support personnel as required
- Communications information to and from internal and external customer organizations,
- Stay abreast of new technology and driven practices
- Perform special assignments as requested
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Technology or related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in Serviceability Engineering, Field Service, or Product Support
- 5 years of professional experience
- Practical diagnostic experience, technical/field experience
- Ability to read engineering schematics
- Familiarity with service information diagnostics and/or authoring
- Ability to make decisions autonomously, manage workload and escalate when necessary
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in data-driven problem-solving
- Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee)
- Eligible to obtain Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire.
