About the role
- Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of frontend engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Architect and build high-performance React applications for Benzinga Pro, Benzinga.com, and emerging financial tools.
- Drive adoption of modern frontend practices: TypeScript, Next.js, and efficient state management (e.g., React Query or Context API).
- Collaborate cross-functionally with backend, product, and design teams to define and deliver impactful features.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and accessibility across our web applications.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development—while ensuring robust, maintainable, and human-reviewed code.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and deployment workflows.
- Debug production issues and proactively improve stability and observability.
- Participate in sprint planning, architecture discussions, and product ideation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional frontend development experience.
- Proven experience leading teams or significant projects in a production environment.
- Deep knowledge of React, TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with Next.js or similar frameworks for server-side rendering and routing.
- Familiarity with testing tools like Jest and React Testing Library.
- Strong understanding of performance optimization, accessibility standards, and modern build tools (e.g., Turbopack, Vite, Webpack).
- Comfort collaborating in a fast-paced, agile environment with CI/CD pipelines.
- Bonus experience with: Financial markets or fintech products.
