About the role
- Cloud-Focused Principal Engineer at Constant Contact maintaining cloud-native infrastructure using AWS and Kubernetes. Contributing to key initiatives and mentoring team members on best practices.
Responsibilities
- Be a key contributor to an operations team of cloud-native systems using AWS, EKS, and OKD
- Assist with the development and maintenance of observability systems
- Participate in small to large platform engineering initiatives related to product delivery tasks
- Study the system and proactively provide architectural improvements and automated solutions for daily operations, deployment, and monitoring.
- Build, maintain, and upgrade Kubernetes clusters and ancillary software using EKS/OpenShift/OKD
- Work with stakeholders to resolve issues with AWS and Kubernetes
- Document operational procedures and share knowledge with stakeholder teams
- Mentor members of the team on best practices, architecture, and development
- Provide guidance in cloud-based best practices
- Participate in a team’s on-call schedule, which means that occasionally, you may be asked to provide after-hours technical expertise, guidance, and support.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional combined work experience in DevOps, SRE, System Administration, or similar roles
- Must have Kubernetes, Docker, and ArgoCD experience
- Must have demonstrable programming abilities in scripting languages like Bash and Python
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals is a must. You should be comfortable using common network troubleshooting tools like dig and nslookup, netstat, netcat, tcpdump, etc.
- Skilled at learning complex processes quickly and a self-service mindset through independent research
- Experience working with Git in a CI/CD environment.
- The applicant should demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- B.S. in Computer Science (or related discipline)
