Responsibilities
As a Senior Physical Designer in the Utility Substations group, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with our engineering teams.
Physical Designers are responsible for drafting and modeling in a manner that provides the client with a quality deliverable that is on time and within budget.
Assists in detailed design of 12.47-500kV substation/switching yards for both brown field and green field sites as needed
Read and understand basic electrical drawings including one-lines and three-lines
Produces physical substation packages including general arrangements, foundation plans, elevations, bill of materials, conduit, grounding, lightning protection, and illumination
Selects hardware for appropriate applications
Works effectively as part of a team or independently with oversight
Reviews submittals for conformance with specifications and design
Checks the work of other designers and drafters for general quality and accuracy as required
Maintains high ethical and professional standards within the overall organization
Attends conferences, training workshops, seminars, and classes as appropriate for professional advancement and to maintain quality of work
Attends safety training and follows safety rules and guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Associates degree in related field preferred
5 + years of drafting, design, engineering, or related experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required
A strong command of the English language
Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
Good interpersonal and people skills
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
