About the role
- Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications primarily built in PHP.
- Collaborate on the Ongoing migration of PHP-based systems to Python (FastAPI).
- Understand and support stakeholder requirements to ensure project alignment and successful delivery.
- Build, test, and deploy RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Optimize code for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Work closely with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Maintain documentation and follow clean coding practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across PHP and Python environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on backend development experience
- Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale web applications
- 5+ years of strong experience in PHP development (Laravel or custom frameworks)
- Solid understanding of OOP principles and MVC frameworks
- Hands-on experience with MySQL / PostgreSQL databases
- Working knowledge of Python (preferably FastAPI or Flask)
- Familiarity with REST API design and backend integrations
- Proficiency with Git, Docker, and deployment workflows
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies, especially Python-based development
