About the role
- Senior Mechanical Engineering Designer focusing on refrigeration system design at Core States Group. Collaborating with engineers and managing documentation for commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site investigations and prepare reports with findings and recommendations.
- Conduct site feasibility research and site visit investigations.
- Generate reports and recommendations based on findings.
- Produce design plans, calculations, and reports with limited direction.
- Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
- Interact directly with clients, providing support and technical guidance.
- Coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs, and change orders.
- Organize and maintain project files.
- Maintain documentation for billable hours.
- Demonstrate an understanding of basis of design.
- Demonstrate an understanding of codes.
- Provide mentorship, training, and technical leadership for refrigeration staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or related discipline) required.
- Engineer In Training (E.I.T) preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in refrigeration system design and preparation of construction documents, preferably for commercial projects such as retail grocery supermarkets or cold storage facilities.
- Experience in refrigeration equipment selection and sizing (compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, pressure-regulating valves).
- Knowledge of refrigeration piping design (sizing and layout).
- Thorough understanding of applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite.
