Senior Globalization Engineer developing and maintaining localization technology while supporting GenAI initiatives at SAS. Leading localization pipeline projects and ensuring quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Designs and develops high quality and scalable solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
Participates in the construction, development and maintenance of the localization pipeline and solutions.
Works to develop and improve GenAI-powered tools, libraries and features for multilingual support.
Handles implementation and proper support of various file types in our pipeline and processes.
Discusses issues and solutions with key stakeholders to improve localization efficiency and quality and develops solutions or tools as necessary.
Participates in project scoping and scheduling; tracks progress of individual tasks and alerts project lead or manager of issues meeting schedule.
Maintains accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Requirements
8+ years of software development experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related quantitative field
Possesses strong programming skills in Go, Python and Typescript
Has extensive experience with Jira, Confluence, Github (workflows and actions), Gitlab and Gerrit.
Flexibility and ability to learn new technologies
Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Working knowledge of various TMS including Smartling
Is self-motivated, proactive, thinks analytically and able to effectively communicate problems and fixes
Works independently or with a team, under tight deadlines.
Possesses interpersonal, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a multicultural, multilingual and collaborative environment
Familiarity with agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency in additional language(s) is a plus.
