As a Senior Engineer on the Catalog Ingestion team at Shipt, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the systems and services that power Shipt's Marketplace Catalog platform.
You will be collaborating with product teams and other engineers to drive the architecture delivery for the success of business goals.
Every day you will work on a team of 6 engineers to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain application code using Golang, Python, Postgres, Redis, DuckDB and Kafka in a micro-services architecture.
Additionally, you also have scope to explore and implement LLMs to help aid the retailer launch process.
You will work with product and cross-functional teams to address various challenges in supporting Catalog applications, ensuring the stability, scalability and performance of applications.
Additionally, you will actively participate in design discussions with both your team and other development teams and also be on an on-call rotation (including weekends).
Requirements
6+ years of software development experience building large, scalable, micro-service applications in the cloud.
You know how to develop backend software applications using object-oriented programming languages.
You have experience with or are eager to learn GoLang and Python.
You have experience with database systems and event-driven messaging systems.
You are passionate about software development, learning different domain knowledge, and solving problems.
You are a self-directed individual that enjoys freedom in your work.
You are able to identify and improve poor-performing code or database queries.
Strong knowledge of testing fundamentals; unit, integration, end to end, etc.
Experience leading technical efforts to improve app maintainability, stability, and performance.
Have a high degree of ownership for all aspects of their services.
