About the role

  • Act as the architecture authority across enterprise systems and platforms
  • Drive the definition of standards, patterns, and roadmaps for core systems (ERP, MES, QMS, CRM, cloud)
  • Partner with peers in ERP, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and GTM to ensure architectural coherence
  • Lead an Enterprise Architecture Community of Practice, mentoring solution/domain architects across IT
  • Guide adoption of emerging technologies (AI, automation, analytics, digital platforms) where they create measurable value
  • Define and maintain the enterprise architecture across applications, data, infrastructure, and integration
  • Provide hands-on architectural guidance for major initiatives (ERP modernization, MES and QMS evolution, CRM/digital transformation, Cloud adoption and modernization)
  • Set architecture standards, patterns, and principles to ensure security, scalability, and interoperability
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to embed secure-by-design practices
  • Shape the enterprise technology strategy aligned to business priorities
  • Develop modernization roadmaps balancing reliability, regulatory compliance, and innovation
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for practical business application
  • Provide recommendations to CIO and IT leadership on investment choices
  • Act as review authority for major programs and solution designs
  • Ensure applied architectures are practical and deliver business value
  • Coach architects and senior engineers, building architecture maturity across IT

Requirements

  • 15+ years of IT experience with 8+ years in architecture leadership
  • Deep expertise in enterprise platforms: SAP ECC/S4, MES, QMS, CRM (Salesforce), cloud (Azure, AWS)
  • Strong knowledge of integration (APIs, middleware), data architectures, and security models
  • Experience in med tech, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing industries strongly preferred
  • Ability to lead through influence, managing alignment without direct authority
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and introduce emerging technologies (AI, automation, analytics) into enterprise environments
  • Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complex technical topics for executive stakeholders
