Responsibilities
- As a Senior Data Consultant, you’ll work directly with clients to translate business needs into powerful data solutions.
- Engaging with stakeholders – Facilitate workshops, gather data requirements, and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior executives.
- Designing and implementing data solutions – Work with Power BI (DAX), Data Engineering (SQL), or both to create scalable analytics solutions.
- Data modelling and architecture – Apply data best practices to ensure solutions are efficient, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborating on projects – Work on large enterprise initiatives or smaller agile projects, leveraging modern data platforms like Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Driving insights and value – Build dashboards, data pipelines, and AI-enhanced analytics that drive business decisions.
- Growing your expertise – Stay ahead of industry trends with allocated learning time, access to Microsoft training, and opportunities to experiment with emerging AI-driven solutions.
Requirements
- Business Intelligence OR Data Engineering expertise: Power BI (DAX) – Intermediate level required.
- SQL (for data engineering) – Expert level required.
- Data fundamentals: Understanding of data modelling principles and best practices.
- Ability to workshop data requirements with business users.
- Technical flexibility: Experience in Synapse, Databricks, or Fabric.
- Understanding of data pipelines, ETL, or analytics workflows.
- Consulting-style soft skills (without needing prior consulting experience): Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Comfortable engaging with senior executives.
- Ability to explain complex data concepts in simple terms.
