About the role

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize dbt models across multiple data domains.
- Maintain and improve complex, large-scale data pipelines in BigQuery and Airflow.
- Define and document standards for modeling, testing, and QA.
- Build automation and monitoring systems to improve reliability and data health.
- Collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to ensure clarity in datasets.
- Contribute to internal tooling, macros, and frameworks for faster and more transparent development.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related field.
- Deep hands-on experience with dbt, SQL, and BigQuery (or another modern cloud warehouse).
- Strong understanding of data modeling principles and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and data quality frameworks (e.g. dbt Cloud, Elementary, Great Expectations).
- Thoughtful opinions on good modeling and workflow design backed by real experience.
- Solid grounding in statistical and quantitative techniques, comfortable interpreting trends and designing analytical models.
- Experience in the gaming industry or other data-rich, high-volume environments is a strong plus.
- Hands-on experience with AI tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Claude Code) is a strong plus.
- Clear communicator who values clean, well-documented, and dependable work.
