About the role

  • Manage relationships with PR agencies, ensuring alignment on strategy, deliverables, and performance.
  • Develop and implement strategic communication plans to enhance brand reputation and visibility.
  • Draft, edit, and oversee press releases, media pitches, op-eds, newsletters, webinar scripts and other written content.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, KOLs, and industry stakeholders.
  • Leverage these relationships to create additional coverage opportunities, including media trips, visits, exploratory interviews, and proactive pitches.
  • Manage crisis communications and provide guidance on sensitive messaging.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and leadership teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
  • Monitor media coverage, track PR campaign performance, and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Oversee the editorial calendar and ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.
  • Act as a spokesperson or prepare executives for media engagements when needed, producing Q&As and providing media training and briefings.
  • Review and manage company-wide, externally facing communications such as newsletters, podcasts, media conference Q&As, and similar content.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or content strategy
  • Proven track record of securing media coverage and managing press relationships
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to tone and clarity
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to translate complex topics into engaging, accessible content
  • Experience in science communication
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
