Project Manager for Donlin Gold managing POX and O₂ systems from planning to commissioning. Ensuring project adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Oversee the planning, design, and delivery of Donlin Gold’s Pressure Oxidation (POX) and Air Separation (O₂) systems
Responsible for all phases of the POX/O₂ project lifecycle under the EPCM framework
Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with strict adherence to Donlin Gold’s safety, environmental, and quality standards
Lead the planning, engineering, and execution of the POX and O₂ systems in alignment with Donlin Gold’s process plant and production objectives
Manage the EPCM contractor and ensure seamless integration with other project work streams including power, process, and infrastructure
Oversee the design, procurement, fabrication, and construction of the POX autoclaves, O₂ plant, and associated utility systems
Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams to ensure designs meet metallurgical and operational requirements
Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and risk management plans consistent with Donlin Gold’s governance framework
Conduct constructability reviews and ensure safe, efficient execution strategies for POX and O₂ installations
Ensure compliance with Donlin Gold’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and applicable regulatory requirements
Oversee commissioning planning and handover to operations, ensuring full alignment with Donlin Gold’s business readiness plan
Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while maintaining the highest standards of technical quality and safety
Prepare regular progress reports, financial summaries, and status updates for Donlin Gold leadership and key stakeholders
Promote collaboration among engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain integration and accountability
Build and maintain strong relationships with EPCM partners, suppliers, and regulatory agencies
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and project team members
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, or Mining (Master’s preferred)
Minimum 15 years of project management experience within mining or metallurgical processing environments
Proven technical expertise with Pressure Oxidation (POX) and Air Separation (O₂) systems
Demonstrated success managing large-scale EPCM contracts across design, construction, and commissioning
Strong understanding of metallurgical processes, process control, and system integration
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and reporting tools
Knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, and permitting regulations
Professional Engineering license (P.E. or P.Eng.) and/or PMP certification preferred
Experience in cold-climate or remote logistics environments is highly desirable
