Responsibilities
Planning, evaluating, organizing and conducting pediatric physical therapy programs to facilitate growth in motor development.
Administer physical therapy evaluations, and assessments to determine a child’s level of function relative to age in the area of motor development.
Provide family training and planning for eventual discharge with home program as needed.
Develop a treatment plan and monitor progress for each child for which he/she is the therapist of record.
Maintain a full patient load (approximately 7 hour long treatments per 8 hour day or the equivalent when working alternate schedules, and seeing at least 2 evaluations a week) while keeping up with timely documentation.
Create and maintain positive relationships with families and children who visit clinic.
Maintain thorough, up-to-date treatment notes on each client.
Demonstrate positive interaction with co-workers, clients, families, and third parties, treating all with respect and demonstrating responsiveness to their needs.
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Program with a minimum of a Masters degree and licensed in the State of California.
Preferred 1 year of clinical experience in a pediatric therapy setting.
Proficiency in conducting evaluations in pediatric clinic-based setting.
Required skills include planning, administering, scoring and interpreting tests related to physical therapy services.
Effective written and oral communication skills are also required throughout this process.
Current License by the Physical Therapy Board of California (PTBC)
