About the role

  • Act as the p/A representative to Agile SCRUM teams dedicated to supporting LTC rate actions
  • Work with product/Accelerator and SCRUM teams to define and deliver enhancements for rate actions and premium mitigation strategies
  • Analyze changes needed by p/A to provide the business solutions needed by the SCRUM teams and assess impacts
  • Design, code, document and test solutions ensuring they meet acceptance criteria and fit within overall technical architecture
  • Support changes through the testing process, assist with test planning, defect resolution and technical system activities
  • Implement solutions following the established change control process
  • Perform administrative duties: participate in meetings and agile ceremonies (SCRUM Stand Ups, Sprint Reviews), respond to correspondence, provide status updates, review/update/submit tickets, participate in change management activities
  • Become familiar with Long Term Care products, business principles and implementation details
  • Support APIs that call p/A to provide calculations to other services

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree and relevant equivalent experience with strong programming skills
  • 6+ years professional experience in technology or insurance
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment on a complex mainframe system
  • Excellent analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset, with ability to understand complex business logic, analyze the system and data, and identify impact of changes
  • Good communication skills; ability to work with various stakeholders and manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities
  • Excellent spreadsheet skills
  • A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to adapt to new technologies and ways of working
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban) (nice to have)
  • p/A and/or VP/MS knowledge a plus but not a requirement (nice to have)
  • Calculation Engine experience a plus (nice to have)
