About the role
- Senior Mechanical Engineer / Design Engineer supporting GT Wings in developing climate-resilient maritime technology. Focused on the AirWing system's design from concept to production.
Responsibilities
- Play a central role in the detailed design and development of the AirWing system
- Work closely with the Head of Engineering and cross-functional teams
- Turn breakthrough concepts into robust, class-compliant, production-ready hardware
- Engage in hands-on engineering at pace with meaningful climate impact
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Marine Engineering or similar
- 3+ years experience in mechanical / design engineering of complex systems
- Proven track record delivering designs from concept through to production
- Strong 3D modelling, detailed drawing and design calculation capabilities
- Confidence operating in fast-moving R&D and build environments
- Experience applying engineering judgement and problem-solving under pressure
- Any exposure to marine or offshore engineering, large-structure or mechanism design, FEA, Inventor or similar 3D CAD, exposure to class/certification requirements (DNV/LR), actuation or control systems insight, familiarity with structural testing and validation is advantageous.
