Lead Energy Performance Engineer overseeing a team to develop energy management solutions using Python at encentive. Focus on technical excellence and cross-team collaboration in Hamburg.
Responsibilities
Team leadership & mentoring: Lead a team of at least two Energy Optimization Engineers.
Data analysis & performance monitoring: Analyze energy consumption, forecasting, and optimization data.
Interface management: Work closely with the Commercial Customer Success and Technical Customer Success teams.
R&D & innovation: Actively drive research topics such as baseline consumption models, new algorithms, and optimization strategies.
Requirements
Completed degree in Energy Engineering, Process Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a comparable field.
At least 5 years of professional experience in energy management, data engineering, optimization, or a similar technical environment.
Initial leadership experience or demonstrable competence in mentoring and coaching technical teams.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Customer Success).
Strong skills in Python (pandas, numpy).
Experience building MVPs, data pipelines, and reporting tools.
Understanding of physical systems such as chillers, heat pumps, combined heat and power (CHP) units, or charging infrastructure.
Knowledge of optimization or forecasting models (e.g., MILP, heuristic methods, ML).
Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
