About the role

  • Report to Senior Data Scientist and work closely on data acquisition, curation and analysis
  • Curation, streamlining and management of datasets from clinical studies and real world deployments
  • Analysis of publicly available national datasets to support marketing claims and identify potential partners
  • Cleaning and management of datasets for training and validation of machine learning algorithms, including database maintenance
  • Automate workflows for data acquisition
  • Develop code for data analysis results, figures and tables to meet timescales
  • Design and implement dashboards for monitoring real-world data, visualising DERM performance and operational insights (e.g., QuickSight)
  • Provide actionable feedback for partner sites and support strategic decision making

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in a STEM field: Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in R or Python (both preferred) for data analysis, manipulation, and basic modelling
  • Familiarity with SQL for querying and managing structured data
  • Familiarity with Python libraries: NumPy, pandas or polars, Matplotlib
  • Familiarity with R packages: tidyr, dplyr, ggplot2
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot and investigate anomalies in messy datasets
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate complex material clearly
  • Exposure to working in a startup or commercial environment (internship, placement year, or ~1 year work experience) [preferred]
  • Postgraduate qualification in a STEM field [preferred]
  • Familiarity with inferential statistics concepts such as p-values and confidence intervals [preferred]
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git or GitHub [preferred]
  • Knowledge of diagnostic algorithm metrics: sensitivity, specificity, PPV, AUC [preferred]
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as PowerBI, Tableau or QuickSight [preferred]
  • Must have right to work in the UK; employer cannot offer sponsorship
