About the role
- Intern Fire Engineer researching fire safety products and assisting in fire safety strategies development. Collaborating with design teams and providing guidance to ensure compliance with fire safety codes.
Responsibilities
- Undertake research on new products and systems
- Work with design teams and review drawings
- Assist senior colleagues with the development of fire strategies
- Review proposed design drawings and provide guidance on design development
- Review design drawings and provide fire compartmentation requirements
- Attend internal and external meetings
- Develop knowledge and understanding of applicable fire safety codes
- Liaise with a wider team of highly skilled fire consultants
Requirements
- Understanding of fire safety codes, i.e., ADB, BS 9991, and BS 9999
- Competency in using systems such as Bluebeam, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Outlook
- Ability to assist engineers and senior engineers in the development of fire safety strategies
- Researching new products and systems
- Undertaking design reviews and providing guidance to achieve compliance with fire safety strategies.
