About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supporting design teams with site analysis, concept design, production of construction documents, project presentation graphics, and construction administration efforts.
  • Work towards leading and managing projects, communicating directly with clients and supporting projects from concept through construction.
  • Balance multiple priorities and deadlines, demonstrating excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Maintaining a sense of excitement to be involved in projects such as, but not limited to, urban design, education, healthcare, master planned communities, landscape restoration, recreation and sport facilities, etc.
  • Producing designs and preparing project graphics using hand and computer drawing and rendering techniques.
  • Develop technical designs and drawings across a range of project scales from less than one acre to hundreds of acres in size.
  • Design skills required include technical design layout, grading, planting and detailing of design projects of all sizes. Irrigation design knowledge is not required, but considered an asset.
  • Project management skills required include, project planning, proposal response/scope of work definition, and project financial oversight
  • This role requires collaborative work with our planning, engineering and architecture colleagues and a close working relationship with the various members of the landscape architecture team, including our landscape designers, graphic designers, senior landscape architects and landscape field services team members.

Requirements

  • 6 to 8 years of direct professional experience, in a landscape architecture practice
  • A degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university, or a diploma from a technical college focused on landscape architecture, or a combination of related education and experience.
  • Current licensure as a Landscape Architect is preferred, but not required for candidates.
  • Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) not required, but considered an asset for potential team members
  • A portfolio of project work will need to be provided for review. This can either be in pdf format or links to an online portfolio site. Please limit portfolio to ten pages, which illustrates a diversity of project work.
