Entry-Level Engineer supporting preparation of estimates for fire protection requirements in steel structures at PPG. Collaborating with sales teams and senior specialists while developing technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
Support global, regional, and local sales teams by assisting in the preparation of estimates for paint thickness and quantities required for fire protection of steel structures
Learn to coordinate with the project specification team, BDMs, and/or field technical specialists to understand project requirements
Gain hands-on experience with tools such as PlanSwift for material take-offs and Quantifire for technical calculations
Assist in maintaining and updating the daily project tracker and enquiry register
Develop technical knowledge in steel structure design, Cellulosic & Hydrocarbon Fire Protection, and passive fire protection principles
Collaborate closely with senior specialists to build confidence in client communication and project handling
Requirements
A degree in Engineering (preferably Civil or Mechanical) or a related discipline
Basic ability to read and interpret engineering or architectural drawings
Interest in industries such as construction, steel fabrication, mechanical engineering, or architecture
Familiarity with CAD and Microsoft Office is an advantage
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
A proactive and curious attitude, eager to be trained, supported, and mentored by the team
Willingness to grow technical knowledge in paint technology, STEELGUARD products, and passive fire protection principles
Experience with digital tools such as PlanSwift, BlueBeam, or similar software is highly valued
