About the role

  • Engineer responsible for the planning and integration of energy storage systems into the grid. Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure our energy storage systems are connected to the grid safely and efficiently
  • Plan, coordinate and implement grid connections for our battery storage systems in the medium- and high-voltage sectors
  • Support projects from the early concept phase through to commissioning
  • Ensure that all technical and regulatory requirements are met
  • Manage application procedures and planning of grid connections for battery storage systems in the medium- and high-voltage range
  • Coordinate with grid operators, authorities and internal specialist departments to ensure project permit readiness and grid connection readiness
  • Coordinate with certifiers for plant certification, including preparation and provision of plant documentation
  • Support the construction phase, with a focus on creation and commissioning of the grid connection point and coordination of the downstream grid operator’s remote control/telemetry systems
  • Prepare technical documentation, including single-line diagrams, communication plans, protection concepts and commissioning declarations
  • Support project development, especially in the early planning phase and in the preparation of feasibility studies
  • Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders on questions of grid integration and grid stability

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Renewable Energies or a comparable field
  • Professional experience in planning and designing grid connections for renewable energy installations, ideally in the medium- and high-voltage sector
  • Solid knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines (e.g., VDE-AR-N 4110, VDE-AR-N 4120)
  • Experience with engineering software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD and DIgSILENT PowerFactory is an advantage
  • Confident user of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Native-level German in spoken and written form; English skills are an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style
