About the role

  • Collaborate with Engineering Lead, Infrastructure Lead, Quality and Software Engineers to automate the Software Delivery Lifecycle via DevOps pipelines, tooling and automation\n• Leverage GIS DevOps tooling and service to ensure strategic alignment across the Group\n• Own the stability of build pipelines and environment automation\n• Work collectively across the team to ensure automation is robust and scalable\n• Participate in team ceremonies to plan and commit to goals\n• Participate in Technical Communities to keep abreast of DevOps roadmap evolution\n• Continuously improve technical and agile skills through on-the-job learning and training\n• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends\n• Seek feedback and actively improve coding and problem-solving skills\n• Take ownership of specific problems and deliver customer focused outcomes\n• Be an ambassador for the z DevOps brand both internally and externally

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail\n• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities\n• Experience with Git for version control\n• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for automating builds or deployments\n• Technical experience of working on the z platform, e.g. COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL & Endevor (desirable)\n• Technical experience of working with DevOps tooling such as CI/CD technologies (Jenkins/Harness/DevOps Deploy), Containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes/etc.), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Chef/Puppet/Ansible)\n• Solid core OS level skills (e.g. UNIX/LINUX/Windows/ZOS) with supporting industry standard scripting skills\n• Understanding of the end-to-end principles and concepts of DevOps and uses tools in assigned work\n• Identifies gaps in the team DevOps pipelines and drives improvements needed through security user stories/Epics\n• Ability to manage artifacts that require version control and identify what should not be in a source code system\n• Ability to design, implement and manage application pipelines using orchestration technologies e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Harness, Tekton, GitHub Actions\n• Willingness to develop and learn new technologies
