About the role
- Build scalable Google Cloud data platform, ingestion and ELT pipelines, governance and monitoring to enable high-quality data across Epidemic Sound.
Responsibilities
- Evolve the data platform and tooling for data ingestion, processing, and management.
- Build a scalable and robust data platform enabling the company to leverage a broad range of data sources.
- Improve the Google Cloud-based data platform to develop a cohesive system for users across the company.
- Build support for streaming events, processing unstructured data, and implement better data governance.
- Create architectural guidelines, solutions, and best practices for data processing.
- Provision and manage resources in Google Cloud using Terraform.
- Manage new and existing data sources into ELT and reverse ETL pipelines.
- Ensure data quality and reliability through implementing standardized monitoring, CI/CD, and testing practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet their needs.
- Continuously explore and adopt new technologies and best practices to improve the data infrastructure.
Requirements
- At least 4-5 years of experience of working with data infrastructure, systems architecture, and GCP-related technologies.
- Hands-on experience of working/building ingestion frameworks and orchestration tools (like Airflow or Snowplow).
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Strong experience with data pipelines, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of software engineering practices, including version control, CI/CD, testing, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Python.
- A love for teamwork and an ability to collaborate with Analytics Engineers, Data Scientists, and Machine Learning Engineers.
- Nice to have: Experience with data security and compliance (PII handling and GDPR) and familiarity with Go is helpful, but not required.
