About the role

  • You’ll be part of the Cyber & Infrastructure (C&I) Security Engineering practice
  • Deliver targeted, high-impact security improvements for NCC Group clients
  • Work side by side with penetration testers, red teamers, incident responders, and auditors
  • Act as the trusted expert, shaping priorities and advising clients
  • Interpret, augment, and transform data into actions
  • Pull together various reports into a clear plan of attack
  • Spot root causes and tackle governance and process gaps
  • Drive measurable improvements to clients' security posture
  • Analyse risk and security information and build on it with your own reviews
  • Shape project plans and help prioritise as things evolve
  • Collaborate with project managers using Agile ways of working
  • Validate that delivered improvements reduce risk as intended
  • Champion the Security Engineering practice and connect clients to wider NCC services when needed

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles and the attack chain lifecycle
  • Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, CIS, or MITRE
  • Ability to digest security reports and recommend smart, actionable mitigations
  • Broad IT knowledge across networks, infrastructure, security, and compliance
  • Solid grasp of modern Windows environments, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
  • Awareness of Azure, AWS, GCP
  • A collaborative mindset
  • Clear, confident written communication
  • Certifications or expertise in IT security management or compliance
  • Experience working in Agile teams or service-led organisations
  • Hands-on experience in some of the following: Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, GCP, DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Network or infrastructure engineering, IT compliance or security management, Blue teaming, network defence, monitoring engineering
  • Certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Agile qualifications
  • Familiarity with standards like PCI-DSS, ISO27001, or SOC
  • Experience building solution architectures and designs
