About the role
- Claims Adjuster I, Casualty investigating bodily injury claims in Calgary or Edmonton. Ensuring prompt and fair settlements through effective analysis and negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Investigate bodily injury claims to ensure a prompt and fair settlement
- Make independent decisions, think creatively, and be able to prioritize the key requirements needed
- Analyze documentation including medical history reports, police investigations, and various other expert reports
- Represent the company in the negotiation and settlement of outstanding claims with third parties directly
- Participate in the management of loss and expense reserves
- Evaluate settlement criteria for payment of claims
- Assess coverage issues and determine liability for claims
Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience working in Claims
- Effective verbal and written communication with all parties
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and organized
- Able to work in a paperless environment
- Capable of multitasking and juggling competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
