About the role

  • Entry-level engineer for Battery Management System at Cummins, focusing on testing and commissioning BMS hardware and software integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in testing and commissioning of BMS hardware and software integrations, including functional verification and system-level bring-up.
  • Perform debugging of electronics and system issues using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and CAN bus analyzers.
  • Support bench and vehicle-level testing, including wiring setups, power-up sequences, and troubleshooting.
  • Document test results, issues, and fixes clearly and systematically.
  • Collaborate with intermediate/senior engineers to identify root causes of electrical and communication issues.
  • Follow safety protocols while working with high-voltage and low-voltage electrical equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or in-progress degree with expected completion) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or a closely related field.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, embedded systems, and communication protocols (CAN, UART, SPI, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction from more experienced engineers.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills for documenting test activities and findings.
