About the role
- Mid-Senior Back End Developer responsible for backend systems at GLOBAL SIDE, a digital health solutions provider situated in Lisbon. Collaborating on microservices and APIs in a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain back-end systems
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable microservices using Spring Boot
- Design and implement APIs, including RESTful and SOAP services, for internal and external consumption
- Design and manage data migration
- Set up and maintain message-driven microservices
- Implement log management solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing project objectives and timelines
- Work on performance improvement and security compliance
- Support the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support)
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years proven track record as a backend developer in an agile environment
- Proficient knowledge of Spring Boot, Java, and Git
- Strong experience in designing and developing REST APIs and SOAP APIs
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, software architecture, microservices, or frontend development is highly appreciated
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication, and knowledge of best practices
- Portuguese at native level (C1 or higher)
- Proficient in English for business purposes; German is a plus but not required
