Responsibilities
The development of interior and exterior vehicle fit and finish (gap/flush) requirements from vehicle concept phase through launch.
Decide PLP/Datum scheme for parts/sub-assemblies to achieve part assembly, gap and flush and functional requirement.
Propose design/tolerance/datums process modification to achieve the required gap and flush/functional requirement and converge with cross-functional team.
Leading target setting workshops, and working closely with product styling, engineering, quality and manufacturing throughout all design phases to ensure targets are feasible, achievable and meet customer’s expectations of quality by Stackup Analysis.
Propose solutions to converge to targets and converge with Styling/Project Team.
Support to RFQ And Source Package.
Requirements
Degree or Equivalent in Mechanical engineering or automotive design.
Proficient knowledge of Gap and Flush Requirement at Vehicle level for Body and Interior.
GD&T Knowledge and Stackup analysis (1D & 3D)
Worked on Sheet Metal and Plastics components
Functional analysis and tolerancing
Statistical basis and monitoring plans
Body Shop and General Assembly process
Synthesis and reporting project KPI
Well Versed with Datum Strategy for Interior and Sheet Metal parts.
