About the role
- Fullstack Engineer developing scalable frontend systems for Zalando's partner-facing applications. Collaborating with product managers and UX designers to enhance B2B workflows in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive, and scalable frontend systems for our partner-facing web applications
- Collaborate effectively with product managers to refine requirements and with UX/UI designers to translate complex B2B workflows into intuitive, user-friendly interfaces
- Champion best practices in frontend development within the team
- Write clean, modular, and testable code, and mentor other engineers who may be more backend-focused on modern UI standards
- Actively participate in the entire product development lifecycle—from initial concept and design through to development, testing, deployment, and operation
- Proactively identify and solve complex technical challenges, always approaching problems with a 'Partner First' mindset
Requirements
- Proven professional experience in web development with a strong command of React and TypeScript
- Deep and practical understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and the broader ecosystem of web technologies
- Hands-on experience with modern state management libraries (such as Redux, React Query, or Context API)
- Understanding of how to handle complex data flows in data-heavy B2B applications
- Proficient in building responsive and performant user interfaces that deliver seamless experiences across various devices and browsers
- Comfortable navigating backend codebases (e.g., Java, Kotlin)
- Ability to write or modify API endpoints and perform basic database queries
- Proven experience working on backend microservices is a plus
- Good communication and collaboration skills
