About the role

  • Engineering Manager leading a team for XTM’s integrations platform development. Managing connector migration and ensuring high-quality software delivery in the localization process.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the engineering team responsible for XTM’s integrations platform, and the associated suite of business critical third party connectors (e.g. SharePoint, Shopify, and many others)
  • Taking a hands-on role in writing code, performing reviews, and guiding the high level technical architecture of the platform
  • Working with engineering leadership and the product team to deliver a scalable, future-proof platform of XTM’s business critical suite of integrations.
  • Managing the migration of connectors onto XTM’s modern, enterprise scale, integrations platform
  • Creating a culture of ownership and accountability within the team by pushing for effective decisions and removing blockers that impede progress
  • Driving team goals forward by organizing work, setting appropriate milestones, and ensuring the engineering or quality backlog is prioritized and communicated to Product Owners
  • Empowering engineers to achieve a high bar of excellence by creating space for testing, automation, observability, and documentation
  • Tracking engineering and quality metrics to deeply understand team performance and proactively improve delivery processes
  • Managing incidents directly affecting the team or area and ensuring that on-call rotas and playbooks are established and understood
  • Maintaining a healthy shipping cadence by balancing short-term and long-term priorities while appropriately unblocking others when needed
  • Improving the developer experience and SDLC at XTM to ensure the engineering function is both highly effective and a great place to work
  • Communicating team progress against milestones at an appropriate cadence to relevant stakeholders and raising the visibility of team achievements
  • Supporting the Agile framework and leading Scrum events when necessary to ensure the team remains directionally aligned with its goals

Requirements

  • 3+ years leading engineering teams
  • Demonstrable experience designing and maintaining scalable high-throughput applications
  • High level of Node.js and JavaScript proficiency**Being a seasoned leader who creates an inclusive environment and adapts ways of working to enable people to do their best work
  • Setting meaningful development goals and milestones for reports while aligning individual growth with the success of the team
  • Hiring top talent by participating in interviews and ensuring that engineers are well-calibrated in the recruitment process
  • Proactively identifying flight risks and taking meaningful steps to retain people by solving underlying problems
  • Composing and delivering constructive feedback while helping team members independently seek and provide feedback to others
  • Setting a high bar for individual performance and appropriately managing any performance concerns within the team
  • Representing engineers clearly and concisely in calibration and promotion forums to support their career progression
  • Fostering a healthy team dynamic and acting as a lead in resolving interpersonal conflicts or challenges
  • Building excellent relationships with peers in product, design, data, and customer success to align on key strategic decisions
  • Translating company objectives and engineering goals into individual tasks to ensure autonomy and agency for every team member
  • Possessing English language skills
