About the role
- Senior Structural Engineer providing technical leadership across structural disciplines in heavy industrial environments. Overseeing project execution and ensuring quality engineering deliverables with client and budget expectations.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across structural disciplines
- Oversee project execution and ensure engineering deliverables meet client, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Lead structural design activities for steel and reinforced concrete structures
- Mentor engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Support proposals and provide construction and field support as required.
Requirements
- Must be legally able to work in Canada at the time of application.
- Graduate or Undergraduate Engineering Degree in Engineering
- Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA
- Minimum 15 years of relevant EPC experience in structural design
- Broad experience designing structures in Oil & Gas and Pulp & Paper projects
- In-depth knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada (Alberta Edition).
- Strong background and experience in structural steel and reinforced concrete design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the requirements of CSA S16 and CSA A23.3.
- Proficiency in modeling and analysis using SAP2000, RISA 3D, and STAADPro.
- Experience in design of modification to existing facilities
- Field construction support experience.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple assignments.
- Strong technical writing skills; experienced in the preparation of correspondence and technical reports.
- Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills.
- Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Willingness to travel and accept short-term field assignments.
- Motivated by working with people, through internal collaboration or with external clients.
- Loves to share knowledge, experiences, and expertise with others to assist, mentor and coach less experience members of the team in their development.
