About the role

  • Waste Characterization and Disposal Civil Engineer providing engineering services for radioactive waste treatment and nuclear safety. Developing and managing waste management systems within Westinghouse's innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering services including treatment and final storage of radioactive waste, and nuclear safety and licensing studies.
  • Involve in characterization and acceptance of nuclear waste from operating plants and end of life decommissioning/dismantling projects.
  • Prepare engineering documents (calculations, construction project plans, licensing documents, and procurement specifications).
  • Develop health and safety plan/study for civil or system projects.
  • Development/management of system/facility requirements for waste management, supporting process optimization programs.
  • Participation in preparation of proposals (technical descriptions, calculation of efforts, client requirement identification and management).
  • Meetings with suppliers at pre-design, specification development and fabrication stages.
  • Oversee the assembly and testing of design modifications.
  • Support to our client's site to resolve problems of the waste treatment systems.
  • Offer evaluation and follow-up and approval of the supplier's documentation.
  • Participation in international teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, industrial engineering or an equivalent technical degree.
  • Valuable master's in Occupational Risk Prevention.
  • 3+ years of experience in project and construction management, or within nuclear facilities.
  • Experience in construction management or site management.
  • Software skills: Structural/Geotechnical Calculations: Knowledge of ANSYS and PLAXIS.
  • Cost estimating/measurement software: Knowledge of Presto or Arquímedes.
  • Fluency in Spanish: must speak and write Spanish perfectly.
  • Fluent in English with reporting skills.
  • Technical interest, predisposition for understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • We require a Driving License.
