About the role
- Senior Software Engineer leading projects for the Life insurance industry's SaaS platform while working in full stack development. Collaborating with teams on technical solutions and delivering high-quality software.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, helping them develop their technical skills, career growth, and problem-solving abilities
- Work across the full stack, building highly scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth
- Develop new features and infrastructure in support of rapidly emerging business and project objectives
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, and maintain high standards for code quality and application design

- Be a leading voice in the continuous modernization of the SaaS offering
- Serve as the primary point of contact for technical discussions with senior management, other engineering teams, and business units. Translate complex technical topics into clear, understandable language for non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
- Design and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale leveraging SOA design principles on J2EE and .NET platforms
- Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIs
- Develop next generation user interfaces for all applications and innovate on integration patterns using Microservice design
Requirements
- At least 5-7 of Industry experience in working and building large-scale software applications
- Experience in building web applications
- Demonstrated programing expertise in Java, C#, or .Net
- Strong skills with object-oriented programming and Enterprise software design principles
- Development experience with javascript frameworks (React, Angular, ExtJS) a plus
- Prior development utilizing SOA concepts and methodologies. Experience with Microfrontends and Microservices a plus
- Strong leader capable of motivating and energizing resources
- Prior leadership and/or management experience of on-shore and off-shore resources
- Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
- Excellent debugging and optimization skills
- Experience in unit/integration testing
- Experience with AWS Services
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineering (Masters a plus)
- Interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies
