About the role
- Lead Frontend Developer managing modern web applications and frontend solutions for German corporate clients. Collaborating within a large agency and mentoring developers in Barcelona office.
Responsibilities
- Technical leadership of frontend projects with responsibility for architecture, code quality and scalability
- Mentoring and conducting code reviews for frontend developers, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing across the team
- Developing modern websites and web applications with a strong focus on usability, performance and accessibility
- Implementing responsive interfaces using Astro, React or Vue and their respective meta-frameworks
- Designing and evolving scalable component architectures and maintaining clean code standards
- Collaborating closely with UX, backend and project management to translate requirements into sustainable technical solutions
- Integrating both headless and traditional (headful) CMS solutions (e.g. Storyblok, Contentful, FirstSpirit, Sitecore)
- Actively contributing to technical decisions, tooling and frontend strategy
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in frontend development, including 2+ years leading a team of developers
- Strong leadership skills to drive technology decisions and advance a development team
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- High sense of ownership, quality awareness and structured, solution-oriented thinking
- Strong skills in TypeScript and proficiency with at least one of the frameworks: Astro, React or Vue
- Knowledge of modern build tools and CI/CD pipelines (Vite, Webpack, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Experience in frontend performance optimization and monitoring (Core Web Vitals, profiling)
- Deep understanding of UX principles, responsive design and accessibility standards
- Experience with frontend testing strategies and quality assurance
- Very good written and spoken German or English skills
