About the role
- Manager for the ShinShinim program in Toronto, guiding post-high school Israelis in cultural education. Overseeing program logistics and mentorship while ensuring community integration.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized mentorship to support the personal well-being, adjustment, and growth of each ShinShin throughout the program year.
- Guide ShinShinim in developing and delivering educational programming on Israeli culture, society, and Jewish peoplehood at partner institutions.
- Participate in regular ShinShinim team meetings to address group dynamics, mentoring needs, and program development.
- Support the planning and execution of community programs and events, ensuring alignment with UJA’s goals and timelines.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with summer camps participating in the UJA ShinShinim Program.
- Manage program logistics, including transportation coordination, vulnerable sector checks, OHIP registration, stipends, winter clothing, and related operational needs.
Requirements
- Strong pedagogical insight and experience in working with Israeli Teens in experiential education context.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Fluency in spoken and written English; high-level spoken Hebrew required.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight programs (e.g., retreats, Shabbatons).
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and partner organizations.
- Advanced computer proficiency.
- Deep knowledge of Israeli society and strong familiarity with the Toronto Jewish community.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are an asset.
- Marketing experience is an asset.
