About the role

  • Manager for the ShinShinim program in Toronto, guiding post-high school Israelis in cultural education. Overseeing program logistics and mentorship while ensuring community integration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized mentorship to support the personal well-being, adjustment, and growth of each ShinShin throughout the program year.
  • Guide ShinShinim in developing and delivering educational programming on Israeli culture, society, and Jewish peoplehood at partner institutions.
  • Participate in regular ShinShinim team meetings to address group dynamics, mentoring needs, and program development.
  • Support the planning and execution of community programs and events, ensuring alignment with UJA’s goals and timelines.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with summer camps participating in the UJA ShinShinim Program.
  • Manage program logistics, including transportation coordination, vulnerable sector checks, OHIP registration, stipends, winter clothing, and related operational needs.

Requirements

  • Strong pedagogical insight and experience in working with Israeli Teens in experiential education context.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; high-level spoken Hebrew required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight programs (e.g., retreats, Shabbatons).
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and partner organizations.
  • Advanced computer proficiency.
  • Deep knowledge of Israeli society and strong familiarity with the Toronto Jewish community.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are an asset.
  • Marketing experience is an asset.
