About the role

  • Engineering Manager overseeing project management and technical guidance for U.S.-based client in consulting and financial services. Driving innovation and team collaboration in a hybrid or remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative, friendly and high-performing environment.
  • Contribute hands-on to coding, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
  • Technical Leadership and Advocacy. Serve as the technical advocate for products and engineering teams, promoting and supporting evolutionary releases (e.g., alpha, beta, MVP). Ensure proper planning, code integrity, quality, alignment with customer goals, architecture designs, and NFRs.
  • Engineering Craftsmanship. Drive engineering excellence through hands-on involvement in design, configuration, and code when needed. Support teams by resolving blockers, performing code reviews, maintaining coding standards, and addressing technical debt. Continuously learn and introduce new technologies, while mentoring engineers to strengthen technical skills and deliver high-quality product outcomes.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Reporting: Regularly report project progress and status to the client and internal management

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3 years of project management experience in the IT field
  • Development Expertise: At least 2 years of technical experience (as tech lead, senior developer or architect)
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Scrum, SAFE etc.), cloud technologies, and DevOps practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and resolve conflicts.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • English Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate at minimum.
  • Client Focus: A customer-centric approach, prioritizing client satisfaction and building long-term relationships. Experience of US outsource projects is welcomed.
