About the role

  • Director role for overseeing transportation operations and maintenance in Toronto. Leading winter services and ensuring efficient service delivery while enhancing operational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the City’s winter operations, street cleaning, grass cutting, and maintenance activities
  • Provide strategic oversight of road operations and maintenance
  • Champion safe work practices and operational standards
  • Develop and execute long-term strategies and modernization initiatives
  • Lead financial and risk management practices
  • Build strong partnerships across City divisions and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive progressive experience leading large complex infrastructure operations in the public sector
  • Experience in the transportation industry is an asset
  • Extensive experience in contract development and management in the public sector
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse multidisciplinary teams
  • Exceptional political acuity and ability to navigate complex political environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
