About the role

Responsibilities

  • Help to make location content best-in-class by advocating for and implementing changes to technology, process, tools, and systems
  • Orchestrate workflows and schedules; monitor, alert, and resolve pipeline issues
  • Ensure data quality with validation, testing, lineage tracking, and documentation
  • Collaborate with product teams to understand requirements and deliver reliable datasets
  • Optimize performance and cost of data storage, queries, and pipelines
  • Manage metadata, governance, and access controls
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
  • Collaborate with teams to bring synergy, with tools and communications channels that ensure transparency and knowledge sharing across the company
  • Work in a mostly-remote and flexible way that will allow you to find the perfect work-life balance

Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience working as a Data Scientist or Data Engineering deploying and managing ML and data pipelines in production
  • Bachelor’s/Masters/PHD in Computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent field
  • Proficiency in a programming language commonly used for data engineering/data science (e.g., Python or Scala)
  • Experience in various ML / AI techniques and frameworks
  • Experience in designing and operating data pipelines and distributed data systems
  • Experience working with Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hive, …)
  • Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and schema design
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data warehousing/lakehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, Synapse)
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt)
  • Familiarity with geospatial libraries and formats (Shapely, geopandas, GeoTiff/COG..)
  • Understanding of data modelling, partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning
  • Good communications skills in English
  • Strong problem-solving skills
