About the role

  • Lead test automation development for Disney’s media technology. Design and implement test frameworks and mentor engineers while driving quality and innovation across platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of test automation suites and its associated pre-production execution environments
  • Lead the design & implementation of test frameworks by ensuring engineers check in valuable and clean code regularly when adding new features and capabilities
  • Mentor team, drive increasing quality through innovation, and encourage thoughtful debate and feedback
  • Successful implementation of solutions for complex technical problems with DE&ET engineering teams and driving the deployment of Disney backend and guest-facing products at Disney Quality
  • Ownership of the design and development of test automation frameworks and its pipeline
  • Participate and assist in conducting ceremonies within the full software development lifecycle using agile methodologies such as Scrum
  • Identify opportunities to improve and build solutions for problems within our full test engineering stack (CI/CD, Service APIs, Reporting, Device Farms, etc)
  • Review code for the design of tests and drive development of efficient and scalable components through own or by guiding/mentoring junior engineers' work
  • Serves as a high-level technical resource for test tooling and communicate/present complexity to technical and non-technical audiences

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field and/or equivalent years of work experience
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a test automation role, including designing and developing manual and automated tests for front end and backend services using a structured programming language
  • Experience in automated testing on mobile or living room (OTT) devices
  • Experience building test frameworks within an enterprise environment, using page object modeling and industry standard drivers such as Selenium or Appium
  • Expertise in one of the following programming languages: Java, C#, Python
  • Experience with system and unit testing frameworks (e.g. TestNG, Cucumber, Robot Framework etc)
  • Experience in validation APIs that drive web, mobile, or living room (OTT)devices
  • Experience developing/testing applications on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Device Farm, Sauce Labs)
  • Experience with Jenkins or other continuous integration/delivery systems
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to use standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools such as Jira and Confluence, version control systems (e.g. Git), and CI/CD tools and pipelines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to deliver project tasks on time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starting individual.
