About the role
- Data Platforms Manager overseeing technical delivery of engineering initiatives for Disney's data solutions. Leading project teams, innovation, and multi-stakeholder collaborations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead a technical team through the delivery of major engineering initiatives, providing guidance for major technical projects related to data platforms and solutions.
- Lead project teams while delivering on-time, on-budget and on-scope.
- Lead the innovation, development and improvement of software and data solutions by managing day-to-day development, testing and implementation of technical solutions.
- Product ownership for data platforms—including setting product strategy and defining and managing the product roadmap
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to deliver data solutions that meet their business needs
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate well to both technical and business audiences
- Lead a team of individual contributors and provide mentorship and career development beyond day-to-day technical guidance.
- Strong collaboration skills, with ability to guide and influence technical decision making.
Requirements
- 8 years+ technical/professional experience programming and designing in various languages (Java, Python, Scala, etc.)
- Experience with enterprise data domains such as Finance and HR data is required
- Experience with Snowflake is required
- Demonstrated experience managing data & analytics platforms, project leadership and product management
- Experience developing enterprise data & analytics solutions
- Experience with high-scale cloud data platforms
- Experience leading the development of a large, complex data-centric projects with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to effectively partner across all levels and manage multiple projects with high standards.
- Intellectually curious and desire to remain up-to-date with emerging technologies.
