Responsibilities
The Registered Psychotherapist role is primarily responsible for providing one-to-one therapy for individuals struggling with complex mental health conditions.
Client Care Accountabilities: Provide individual trauma therapy utilizing Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and/or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Provide resource-based interventions, case management and coordination, transition, or discharge planning.
Completion of client intake assessment and documentation.
Demonstrate expertise and skills to support clients presenting with: Post-traumatic stress disorder, Psychological injury, Addiction, Depression, Anxiety, Other mental health diagnoses.
Team Collaboration Accountabilities: Participate in weekly case consultations and complex case discussions with an interdisciplinary team.
Work collaboratively with other therapists by sharing a client caseload, within a rotating therapist model.
Communicate with other clinicians on a regular basis about issues related to client care.
Participate in mental health promotion activities and contribute to establishing and maintaining mental health and addictions community resources.
Administrative Accountabilities: Ensure same-day completion of session notes.
Complete assessment reports in a timely manner.
Provide reporting to third parties and community referral sources.
Attend relevant clinical meetings, including but not limited to WCB (Return to Work) and other programs.
Engagement in professional consults and supervision.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Psychotherapist in mental health treatment is required.
2+ years of working with third party funders is an asset.
EMDR or ART experience is an asset.
Equivalences of experience may be considered.
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling or related field is required.
An active registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) is required.
Professional liability insurance is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is required.
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is required.
